New England Weekend - Friday

I just got home from a weekend in New England, mostly Maine. I'm going to post the pictures I took along the way. Here is Friday.

We took the ferry out of Port Jefferson at around 7am. It was a great morning for a ride.

You can't drive through New Hampshire without stopping in the state liquor store.

We finally hit Maine...
We stopped in Brunswick, Maine to see the indoor flea market. These are some pictures from the Bowdoin Mill across the street that has been converted into offices and a brewery.

This is the old mill that houses the flea market.

This dam is part of a hydroelectric system and fishway.

This is the Bowdoin Mill from the other side of the river.

I was walking along the river with my sister when we heard some rustling in the rocks. She wanted to stay and find out what it was. This guy poked his head out and I was fairly convinced he was going to eat us for lunch.

The lobster statue outside the Taste of Maine restaurant. It's huge and I think everyone stops to take pictures with it.

When we used to stay in Edgecomb, my brother and I hiked to this fort. Pretty cool historic site, and I think it played a major role in defending the coast during the War of 1812.

Downtown Boothbay Harbor.

This is an old tugboat that was converted into a hotel and restaurant.

People have all kinds of cool statues outside their homes.
